Local Rugby stars at Limerick Racecourse to launch the Limerick Christmas Racing festival
Local Patrickswell men David Kilcoyne and Conor Murray of Munster Rugby were on hand to help launch the 4 day Irish Independent Limerick Christmas Racing Festival which starts on Wednesday 26th December and runs until Saturday 29th December 2012.
The racing is always of the highest standard and very competitive, the Grade 2 Greenmount Park Novice Chase takes centre stage on the opening afternoon. It is normally a classy affair with the likes of Imperial Call, Hi Cloy, One Cool Cookie and Sir Des Champs having won recent renewals. The feature races on Day 2 & 3 are the Grade B Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase and the Grade 3 Project Architects and the Grade 3 Liberty Insurance Novice Hurdle.
With 4 days of racing action there is something for everyone at the racecourse this festive season. On Wednesday 28th December, there will be a Ladies Day competition sponsored by The Strand Hotel, Limerick. The top prize is a weekend for 4 people in The Strand Hotel, Spa Treatments, Champagne dinner in the River Restaurant, and dinner in The Mustard Seed on the second evening.
Enjoy two great sports - horse racing and rugby on Saturday 29th December in the sporting “capital” Limerick. With the horse racing action starting at 12:30pm enjoy 7 National Hunt races at Limerick Racecourse before you take the bus to Thomond Park for the Munster v Ulster Rabo Pro 12 game which kicks off at 5:30pm. Enjoy a combination ticket to include racing, bus and rugby all for only €40 per person. Don’t miss out on this great value offer for 29th December 2012.
